03History
1888 — Ramos's Imperial Cabinet Saloon, New Orleans. At Mardi Gras, thirty-five shaker boys passed tins hand to hand; the drink demanded it.
Huey Long loved it enough to bring a bartender to New York to teach it. Modern bars shorten the shake and cheat with a second dry shake.
