03History
Attributed to Bronx restaurateur Joseph Sormani around 1905–10, and printed in the 1930s New York guides; it was once more famous than the Manhattan it resembled.
The borough name is claimed to come from the Bronx Zoo — Sormani said he mixed it after a visit. True or not, the orange makes it brunch-legal.
Origin contested — the entry keeps verified record and received legend distinct.
