Background

Published in 1924 — the same year as Akiyama Tokuzō's Cocktail compendium — it appeared 6 years before The Savoy Cocktail Book, yet already records roughly 30 drinks the Savoy would print.

Maeda (1897–1939) remains a partly mysterious figure; where he learned the newest London and American recipes is still uncertain. The National Diet Library digitization is publicly readable under a ruling by the Commissioner for Cultural Affairs.
