03History
Claimed by Donato 'Duke' Antone at his Los Angeles bar in 1952 — though the cocktail world credits the 1960s Galliano marketing machine for the name. Harvey was a surfer, or a regular, or invented for the ad; accounts disagree.
Either way, the formula is real: Galliano's vanilla-anise float turns a plain Screwdriver into something with an actual personality.
Origin contested — the entry keeps verified record and received legend distinct.
